South Central is the 1992 soundtrack to the American film of the same name. It is a blend of old school 1970's/1980's R&B with then-modern hip-hop. It was released on the HollywoodBASIC label.
Just like the movie, the soundtrack is split between the soul and funk grooves of the late 70's/early 80's and the hip-hop of the early 90's. While it may look sub-standard, the stand-out track happens to be an old school classic by Spectrum City, called "Check Out The Radio". This would be the debut recording of one Chuckie D., better known as Chuck D. of Public Enemy.
